How to Access Services

Mind & Health Psychology offers several pathways to access assessment and counselling services, including Medicare referrals, private bookings, and private health insurance rebates.

  • Medicare rebates may be available for individuals referred by their GP under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.

All psychologists at Mind & Health Psychology are registered Medicare providers under this initiative. To access Medicare rebates for psychological treatment, you will need to visit your GP to discuss obtaining a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Clients with a valid Mental Health Care Plan may be eligible for rebates for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

    Please note:

    • Medicare rebates generally apply to counselling and psychological treatment services

    • Assessment services may not always attract Medicare rebates depending on the referral type and service provided

  • Private clients are welcome and do not require a referral to access services.

You may contact the clinic directly to enquire about appointments, assessments, or counselling services.

Please note that privately funded sessions are not eligible for Medicare rebates unless referred under an eligible Medicare pathway.

  • If you hold private health insurance, your provider may offer rebates towards psychological treatment sessions depending on your level of cover.

As rebates and eligibility vary between funds and policies, we recommend contacting your insurer directly to confirm:

    • available rebates

    • claiming processes

    • eligibility under your policy

  • We accept:

    • GP referrals

    • specialist referrals

    • allied health referrals

    • self-referrals

Our team manages the intake and booking process directly with the client following referral or enquiry.

  • Telehealth appointments are available Australia-wide for eligible assessment and counselling services, using secure online platforms.
